| The last thing you need is to have your reports stop
updating. Your entire operation could
grind to a halt. There are many reasons why reporting could stop. For example, there is a know bug in AXIOM
that kills the job queues when a numeric limit on a counter is exceeded. One is forced to reset the queues on a
periodic basis to avoid this problem. |
| The WatchDog is a stand alone executable that can periodically
run on multiple computers on your network. |
| The WatchDog checks a list of files you specify and confirms that
they are not older than the time you specify.
This is managed with an easy to use table: |

| When WatchDog detects a problem, it sends an email and/or text
message to as many people and places that you want. This is managed on the Email tab: |

| As of May, 2009, WatchDog checks for the following anomalies and
notifies the user list if a problem exists: |

Multiple
instances of Excel running on the WatchDog machine. As you know, the CART and DART Excel macros
run as Windows scheduled tasks. Excel
is opened, CART or DART run, and then Excel closes. If an error occurs, the instance of Excel
could not shut down properly. When CART or DART is run at the next scheduled
time, a second instance of Excel will be created. WatchDog looks for multiple
instances of Excel and kills the older instance. |

All files on the
user defined list are checked to assure that they are no older than the
number of hours specified on the list. |

If the CART
Archive feature is active, confirms the archive feature is current, restores
any lost archive files. |
| ● |
 Confirms
that at least 2 GBs of space are available on the hard drive that contains
WatchDog. |
