| AutoSoft Systems is pleased to announce the interface of its
Process and Lab Information Management System [PLIMS], AutoData, with Thomas
Engineering's Compu-Lab pill coating equipment. |
| All Compu-Lab's are equipped with a 37 pin Amphenol® connector.
Traditionally, this connector mated with a 12 channel strip chart
recorder. |
| AutoSoft's electronic enclosure replaces the strip chart
recorder. The following parameters can be measured: |

| This NEMA 4 enclosure, custom designed and built by AutoSoft,
seamlessly interfaces with Thomas Engineering's Compu-Lab equipment through
the 37 pin Amphenol connector pictured in the upper left corner above. This
enclosure is mounted within 10 feet ofthe Compu-Lab, and can be up to 5,000
feet away from the Windows XP Pro computer which displays results.
Communication to the computer is via RS-485, and is a simple twisted pair
unshielded cable. The enclosure is powered by 110 VAC 60 Hz standard U.S.A. electrical
power. A standard 3 prong outlet is supplied (also pictured in the top
left). |

| AutoData is a full-featured LIMS for small workgroups ( < 20
users). The data collected from the Compu-Lab can be fully integrated with
other lab data for detailed analysis. AutoData readily exports user-defined
subsets of the data to Microsoft's Excel®. |
| AutoData's interface with the Compu-Lab includes real-time
strip chart recorders and a configuration screen that accommodates multiple
configurations. |

| Here, the user enters the calibration of the 1-5 VDC signals
generating from the CompuLab. The exact operation of this screen is described

| The computer can be supplied by AutoSoft, or AutoSoft
technicians can install AutoData on any Windows XP Pro computer with an open
serial port. Laptop computers work very well for this application. |
