Trackwise® does a great job in managing NCs (Non Conformances) and CAPAs (Corrective Actions / Preventative Actions). As with most of these types of tools, the reporting features are limited. The standard solutions are tools like Brio or Cognos, which allow the user to extract a report which can eventually wind up in Excel, but the user has to manually input a series of parameters, manually run the report, and manually move the data into Excel for further manual manipulation to be able to draw conclusions. Dr. Serdakowski's approach here is like it is everywhere:

The first step in the process is to extract the information from Trackwise®. This can be done in 3 different ways:

- Direct ODBC query

- Import from a Brio export file

- Import from a Cognos export file

In any case, a log is kept of what was imported, who imported the data and when it was imported:

There are a number of reports that provide color coded metrics. Here is one of them:

To facilitate reporting, there is even an option to automatically generate PowerPoint presentations, with one graph on each slide (a real time saver!).
