| EDI promises to make our lives easier. Companies could exchange information
quickly and accurately. AXIOM has an
entire EDI suite designed for this purpose.
However, in reality, it is a BEAR to set up. SMART has a suite of EDI tools that make
it a bit easier to do just that. For
example, international conventions specify that EDI form #850 is to be used
for Purchase Orders. So one would
expect that a customer would generate an 850 form and that AXIOM could take
what the customer provides and immediately understand it and update AXIOM
accordingly. Nothing could be
further from the truth. |
